ENJOYPOOL.COM 9-BALL AIRINGS RE-SCHEDULED
Back to Back Sunday broadcasts begin July 16

Colorado Springs, Colorado: The Billiard Congress of America [BCA] received word of a last-minute schedule change by ESPN (due to the World Cup*), which bumped the July 9 start of the EnjoyPool.com 9-Ball Championship broadcasts. The lineup of shows feature event champions Ralf Souquet and Jasmin Ouschan in their semi- and final rounds -- and will now be aired on back-to-back Sundays, beginning July 16 at 3:00 pm eastern.

• On Sunday, July 16 The women's semifinal and final rounds will be aired, with Jasmin Ouschan taking on Helena Thornfeldt in the early round at 3:00 pm, and Allison Fisher in the final at 4:00 pm.
• On Sunday, July 23 The men's semi- and final rounds have been re-scheduled to air at 4:00 and 5:00 pm eastern on the later date. You'll see Ralf Souquet vs. Efren Reyes in the first hour, followed by the final between Souquet and Johnny Archer.

*According to ESPN, here's what happened: when the World Cup Final ran long on ABC (going into overtime/penalty kicks), live PGA Tour Golf (originally scheduled for ABC from 4-6pm) was moved to ESPN, bumping the billiards broadcast.

TEAM USA ROSTER RELEASED
Top Juniors named to compete at World Juniors

Colorado Springs, Colorado: The Billiard Congress of America [BCA] has released the roster of juniors selected to represent "Team USA" at the World Pool Billiard Association [WPA] Junior World Championships in Sydney, Australia, November 13-17.

The selection committee - comprised of BCA staff, referees and tournament officials - reviewed player performances, ability and sportsmanship at the recent Junior & Collegiate 9-Ball Championships, and tapped these hopefuls for the 2006 squad: 

• Justin Bergman (Fairview Heights, Ill.) - Boys 19 & under champion
• Ryan Dunn (Hillsboro, Tenn.) - Boys 14 & under, runner up
• Anna Kostanian (Albuquerque, N.M.) - Girls 19 & under champion
• Austin Murphy (Folsom, Calif.) - Boys 14 & under champion
• Daniel Rakin (Daly City, Calif.) - Boys 19 & under, third place
• Mary Rakin (Daly City, Calif.) - Girls 19 & under, runner up

The qualifying BCA junior national 9-ball event was held in July at the Student Union Memorial Center Billiards & Games Room on the University of Arizona campus in Tucson, and drew hundreds of student-athletes. [ press release ]
